Thought For The Day

Imagine that £1bn is available to re-invigorate Britain’s manufacturing sector or to invest in research and development in the country’s scientific and technology sectors.

“The MOD’s initial view is that they [the costs] will be in the order of tens of millions of pounds, not hundreds of millions.” Osborne 22 May 2011 Column 850

Imagine that any money saved by Treasury cuts isn’t shipped abroad in the form of protection money to the EU, eurozone bail-outs or in overseas aid. Moreover, imagine that spending on overseas aid wasn’t going to be enshrined in law.

Imagine that some Prime Ministers are more concerned with domestic matters rather than impressing on the world stage .  Imagine that some political parties kept their pre-election pledges. Imagine also that some Prime Ministers aren’t occupied with furthering Common Purpose.

Imagine that the City of London didn’t have plans to be the centre of Islamic sharia banking in the West and a government didn’t offer tax concessions to further their aims.

Imagine that the British taxpayer isn’t being screwed left, right and centre by successive governments.

Okay, dream over.  Get back to work, debt-slaves.
